The Hawai’i Department of Health Taps Prolink to Supplement Healthcare Workforce Statewide

September 25, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CINCINNATI, OH – The Hawai’i Department of Health announced on Thursday that Prolink had been contracted to provide facilities throughout the state with more than 200 healthcare clinicians over a four-month period in response to the ongoing pandemic.

The incoming clinicians are primarily med/surg, critical care and telemetry nurses. Respiratory therapists, emergency department nurses and dialysis nurses have also been contracted.

"Our travelers' response to the call for these positions was overwhelming," says Prolink CEO and Cofounder, Tony Munafo. "We were able to fill over 200 openings with the speed and efficiency that Hawaiian healthcare leaders have called for. Now, our teams are focused on helping prepare them for the weeks ahead. We have sent Prolink associates to greet our travelers at their hotels as they arrive. Our associates will stay with them through the first few days of their assignment and attend orientation with them. Our goal is to ensure a seamless travel experience so they can focus on saving lives."

"The Prolink Clinical Leadership team and Hawaii healthcare leaders have partnered to implement clinical workforce solutions, ultimately ensuring patient care delivery across the islands," says Prolink Director of Clinical Solutions Mary Hamilton MSN, RN NE-BC. "Leading up to departure for the island, the Prolink team is in constant communication with our clinicians coordinating everything from regulatory compliance to onboarding itineraries. These clinicians are tested for COVID prior to beginning patient care and are following the Hawaii Department of Health and CDC guidelines. This collaborative effort will provide continuity of high-quality patient care for the Hawaiian community."

The first wave of travelers began arriving on the island Thursday, September 24. Additional travelers from the first wave will arrive October 4. The second wave will arrive November 1. Each wave will work for two months.
