McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI): The purpose of the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI) is to provide minorities- known as MLI Future Leaders - a jump-start to their careers through practical experiences, opportunities to build their network, and instilling the values of John McLendon: Integrity, Education, Leadership, and Mentorship. Coaches participating in the initiative are Ambassadors of the program and will serve as mentors to the Future Leaders on their campuses. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree to apply.

Duration: August 2022 - July 2023

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

Athletic Director’s Office

  • This position will assist in many areas of the AD’s Office, such as:
  • Research in areas such as resource allocation, salary surveys, program composition, etc.
  • Contact other institutions to learn best practices and what can be applied to the University of Colorado
  • Conduct long and short-term research projects in all areas of an Athletic Department that will directly improve the University of Colorado – Boulder
  • Assist Assistant AD/Administration Operations in day to day tasks such as retrieving data, summarizing information, helping prepare senior staff for meetings, etc.
  • Put together weekly reports for AD and Assistant AD/Administration Operations
  • Assist in note taking for weekly meetings to be disseminated to staff members

Digital Content

  • Will help capture and edit photo/video content at sports games, practices and events
  • Will assist with social media management responsibilities including but not limited to gameday live posting, day-to-day posting, content calendar planning & content organization
  • Will participate in content brainstorming meetings, studio photo/video shoots, student intern training sessions, etc. 
  • Preferred skills: experience with DSLR photo/video cameras and the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop, After Effects) 

Revenue Generation

  • Assist Revenue Generation department with research projects, revenue leads and administrative tasks
  • Help cultivate and maintain positive relationships with third-party vendors, assist with lead revenue growth opportunities, and remain up to date on industry best practices.
  • Assist with Identifying, evaluating, and implementing trends that support defined revenue goals.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

  • Assist with the development and implementation of all Colorado Athletics Diversity and Inclusion programs and initiatives, including but not limited to:
  • CUnited student-athlete leadership group
  • Participate in DEI staff meetings
  • Co-develop DEI based community service and educational opportunities
  • Help coordinate annual all staff and all student-athlete Inclusive Sports Summit.

Must adhere to all University of Colorado, PAC12 & NCAA rules and regulations.
