McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI): The purpose of the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI) is to provide minorities- known as MLI Future Leaders - a jump-start to their careers through practical experiences, opportunities to build their network, and instilling the values of John McLendon: Integrity, Education, Leadership, and Mentorship. Coaches participating in the initiative are Ambassadors of the program and will serve as mentors to the Future Leaders on their campuses. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree to apply.

The Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) Specialist will assist the Compliance Department and the Creative and Branding Department in the management of the institution’s NIL program. This position will report to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Services.

Duration: August 2021 - June 2022

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

• Assist the Associate Athletics Director for Creative and Branding in the cultivation of student-athlete training and content as it relates to student-athlete NIL brand development;
• Support the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Services in the creation of student-athlete education as it relates to student-athlete NIL brand protection;
• Oversee the processing of student-athlete NIL opportunities through the facilitation of Athliance;
• Manage NIL questions and requests from internal stakeholders (e.g., student-athletes, coaches, staff, etc.) and external stakeholders (e.g., boosters, third party individuals, local business, etc.);
• Must adhere to all University, Kansas Athletics, Big 12 and NCAA rules and regulations;
• Other duties as assigned.

Stipend: $2,500 per month
