The Director of Total Rewards has primary responsibility for strategic oversight design, development, implementation and management of effective and equitable compensation and benefits plans, programs and practices for ProLink Staffing. The Director of Total Rewards designs, plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices, serving as the strategic partner to Senior Leadership and the Board. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. The individual works to ensure the programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and align with the company's goals and competitive practices. The position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of ProLink’s group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, HSA, retirement plans, and other company benefits plans). The role is responsible for researching best practices in industry and area of team’s specialty; compensation, benefits and wellness.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compensation

  • Administer and serve as the subject matter expert for ProLink’s salary administration system and compensation programs, including base pay, commission, bonus and equity compensation plans.
  • Build and maintain the design and communication of salary administration practices and incentive plans.
  • Manage the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices, pay levels and practices, and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Partner with HR Business Partner and direct reports to provide advice to management on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Design creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
  • Lead compensation-based elements of the quarterly bonus and annual merit review process.
  • Develop techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting compensation data.
  • Participate in and oversee salary and labor market surveys and monitor salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Work with HR Director to review and analyze internal and external data, employee feedback and manager input to recommend changes to salary structures and salary increase guidelines.
  • Ensure that compensation and practices comply with all local, state and federal legal requirements.

 

Benefits

  • Design strategy for long term benefit plans and funding, develop a portfolio of programs and lead all broker relationships.
  • Work directly with Finance and other executives to fund, manage and determine investments for plans and programs.
  • Own and lead the benefits broker partnership and management of benefits services to provide best in class benefits plans to ProLink employees.
  • Conduct routine research to identify market trends; gather employee feedback and industry news to stay informed about competitiveness, best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company's stance.
  • Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling of budgeted funds.
  • Ensure benefits-related policies are consistency with and compliment company practices.
  • Analyze employees’ health risks, conditions and interests to define areas of focus for benefits programs and wellness initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the HR Service Center to train, provide direction, resolve complex or escalated issues, and ensure excellent service for employees.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all plans and programs, including medical, dental and vision plans, 401(k) retirement plan, HSA plan, voluntary benefit plans, workers compensation and Paid Time Off (PTO) program.
  • Organize and lead the strategic planning associated with the annual benefits renewal process; design of benefits plans, negotiate rates with broker and vendors, coordinate the development and maintenance of benefits materials, including new hire packets, open enrollment packets, program descriptions, etc.
  • Oversee benefits team handling the administration of COBRA, leave of absence requests, FMLA and Workers Compensation.
  • Responsible for understanding external market and internal employment factors, trends and issues around total rewards so that we can proactively mitigate risk and plan for program improvement.

 

Wellness

  • Design and manage a comprehensive wellness program, developing programs to address employee needs. Develop the budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program.
  • Formulate recommendations and associated financials, socialize them with various stakeholders to gain consensus and implement suggestions.
  • Partner with benefits team to coordinate, plan, and facilitate health, fitness activities and programs for employees.
  • Establish wellness program KPIs; define and track measures of success.
  • Partner with communications team and leaders to show program value and increase engagement across the organization.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Staffing industry experience

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance or related field
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leaders
  • Proven ability to manage a self-funded portfolio and lead an organization from fully insured to self-funded
  • Experience leading a firm through a Benefits RFP
  • Experience owning and managing a benefits broker relationship
  • Experience building trusting relationships with HR and business leaders
  • Ability to tell a compelling fact-based story that supports business objectives
  • Ability to analyze data from various sources, develop options, and present well-informed recommendations
  • Organized approach to tracking and delivering on multiple concurrent priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and respectfully
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare or human resources
  • 10 or more years of HR experience, owning compensation and benefits
  • Deep compensation knowledge, including the benchmarking of new roles, development and implementation of pay grades and ranges
  • Experience developing sales-based commission plans
  • 5 or more years of people management experience, with the ability to effectively manage remote team members
  • Outstanding relationship skills; collaborative, decisive, flexible and trustworthy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •  Demonstrated business acumen; understanding of business operations, sales and client service
  • Strong service and support orientation; strong sense of accountability for self and others
  • Confidence and composure in the face of stressful situations or differing opinions
  •  Highly organized with the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage a large volume of detailed work
  • High level of comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office, HRIS systems and social networks
