To provide occupational therapy treatment to special needs students. This job is responsible for individual and group sessions to correct specific areas of sensory-motor integrative dysfunction. The OT will administer assessments to determine the student’s level of functioning (relative to age) and educational placement in areas such as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory-motor integration, self-care, and the activities of daily living.
Provided Occupational Therapy services, as identified through the IEP plan, to students of various ages in the individual, or group setting
Administer OT therapy assessments to determine student’s level of functioning relative to age and educational placement in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and ADLs
Writes assessment reports identifying the student’s needs and proposed treatments; writes individual student goals/objectives as part of the IEP
Maintains timely documentation, progress records, and participates in IEP meetings
Develop OT treatment plans based on the educational goals for eligible students to improve the student’s functional abilities within the school and home settings, in collaboration with the IEP team
Performs related duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Current state OT license and/or certified with the National Board of Occupational Therapy
Possess a state driver’s license
1-2 years of relevant experience, working with pediatrics
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
