The Postpartum RN is responsible for caring for both mother and infant after delivery. Additional responsibilities include educating mothers on appropriate self-care and care for her newborn after birth, cleaning and monitoring the newborn, checking vital signs, administering medications, checking caesarian incisions and removing catheters after delivery.
The Postpartum RN monitors mothers for signs of postpartum depression and often work alongside a lactation consultant to help with breastfeeding.
Our client may require the following: prior experience in a NICU setting, EFL, RNC-MNN, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
