Experience Requirements

At least 1-3 years in critical care setting

Experience Requirement

Acute care experience – does own codes and rapid response, does critical drips, Step Down, Tele, they will be exposed to vents & trachs. Will not be alone because there are RT teams and Charges who help on the floor. Can be trained on vents

 

Day-to-day

Taking care of long term ACUTE care patients, vents and/or trachs. NO COVID POSITIVE PATIENTS. They have had recovery patients previously but no active recovery patients at this time – must be comfortable working with Med/Tele, Step Down or ICU patients.

Heparin Cardizem Dobutamine <--- mostly every time Precedex Propofol Lasix Epinephrine
Amiodorone

Scrub Requirements

Matching solid blue (any shade)  – look professional, natural, no long nails, no steel toe heels, no wild hair color, no gel nail polish or acrylics

Patient Population/ratios

 

 Respiratory failure, stroke, complex wound care, traumatic brain injury, Sepsis patients 

Ratios are  1:4-5 ; may have 6 patient occasionally – Select assigns patients based on acuity – a 2 is vents, 1 is walking around not that ill

Yes – less than 5 days that is not a holiday

Additional Notes/Must Haves

Must have experience working with vents and or trachs in an acute setting – ICU and PCU background do the best

Orientation details

12 hour shadow orientation. On their first day they will go the nurses station to meet their charge. The charge will introduce them to their preceptor. During their first shift they will do competencies, be shown around the hospital, and get training on their badging system. -  WILL ORIENT ON THE SHIFT THE RN IS CONTRACTED FOR

Background Check – will be sent from Compliance on First Advantage *Must be completed within 48 hours of receiving

-You will receive a separate email from First Advantage to complete your background check

-Once you complete the background check you will receive an email regarding your drug screen

10 Panel Drug Screen– will be sent from Compliance on First Advantage*Must be completed within 48 hours of receiving

TB Test within the current 12 month period – must be a TRUE 2-step (2 individual TB skin tests), Quantiferon (blood draw) or Chest Xray

-You are responsible for submitting a copy or completing the blood draw. Please send in a receipt for reimbursement for blood draw once completed

Updated Professional Resume

At least one (1) professional reference, may need 2 (two)

Signed Offer Letter – Completed via DocuSign (will be sent from ProLink)

BLS and/or ACLS Card – Copies or e-card – must be AHA and not expiring within 30 days of start date
