Manages plant compliance safety and environmental procedures. Leads development, implementation, and management of the site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs to meet all company and regulatory requirements.
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
Exhibit and practice Zero Harm. Be a company representative to the safety culture and assure that all site personnel, including contractors, follow and practice the culture.
Develop and maintain EHS systems and implement a program of both comprehensive, as well as focused, EHS audits to ensure the facility is adhering to all regulations, corporate requirements, and facility best practices.
Maintain a thorough understanding of pertinent codes, governing regulations, and industry practices related to environmental, health, and safety.
Collaborate with key staff to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
Lead investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future. Compiles and submits required OSHA accident reports.
Develop and report of EHS performance metrics to facilitate continuous, ongoing improvement of the EHS efforts and results.
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or related field with 10 + years related experience. Masters Degree preferred.
Experience with local regulatory compliance, applying for and obtaining environmental permits, permit compliance, and regulatory reporting.
Understanding administration of other plant functions. Manage daily NPDES discharge.
Management of all operating permits and reporting to include EPA RCRA part B, NPDES (storm water and discharge), air. DHS, DOT, SARA and EPA registrations.
Lead hazops, what ifs and risk assessments for site. Training Required RCRA, OSHA training certificates.
