The Machining Supervisor will be working in an industrial automotive setting and is responsible for the following duties:
Adherence to federal and local law regulations, internal policies and other applicable rules including ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements
Continuous improvement of work and activities
Compliance with the corporate mission statement
Cooperation with other people in spirit of mutual respect
Fulfilling thoroughly all tasks within the scope of defined qualifications and responsibilities
Represent the company in professional and respectful manner
Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information
Adherence to 5S principles
Specific responsibilities of the Machining Supervisor include, but are limited to:
Lead, supervise, review, direct and train personnel
Review and control labor reporting
Improve workplace environment (5S standards)
Create shift and work schedules
Ensure continuous coverage of production (Coverage for call-offs, vacations, etc.)
Ensure staff are following standard operating procedures (enforce SOP)
Ensure documents required to do the job are available
Has limited disciplinary power (disciplinary action must be coordinated with management; i.e. Machining Manager and HR Manager)
Implement good company/employee relations, including cooperation and teamwork
Perform all duties deemed necessary by superior
Interview candidates along with making hiring decisions
Provide direct feedback/counseling to hourly employees
